This is why Dex likes this article
This practical plastic sieve with medium-fine mesh is ideal for sifting flour, icing sugar and other fine ingredients. The handy 14 cm diameter and sturdy grip make everyday use in the kitchen a doddle.
When do you choose this product?
What does this product do and when do you need it?
A sieve is used to separate solid particles from liquids, or to sift powders such as flour and sugar for an even result. This Metaltex sieve has a medium mesh size, making it suitable for everyday kitchen tasks where you need medium-coarse filtering.
Why choose this size?
With a diameter of 140 mm and an overall length of 275 mm, this is a handy sieve that sits comfortably in the hand and is neither too large nor too small for standard kitchen tasks. It fits comfortably over a bowl or pan of medium size, so you don't have to balance it while sieving.
Honest about the material
The sieve is made from a PP (polypropylene) handle combined with a fine polyester mesh. Polyester mesh is resistant to moisture and dries quickly, but it is advisable to consult the manufacturer's specifications regarding maximum washing temperatures and dishwasher safety, as this information is not included in the product information.
Practical tip for use and storage
Thanks to the white colour and plastic frame, it is easy to see whether the mesh is still clean after use. The width of 140 mm by 63 mm height makes the sieve compact enough to store upright in a kitchen drawer organiser or hang together with other kitchen utensils. After washing, always check that the polyester mesh is still taut and not coming loose from the rim.
