What does a bristle brush do and when do you need it?
A bristle brush with hog bristles is specially designed for applying gouache and creative painting projects. You need this type of brush for applying paint to larger surfaces and for tasks where the natural texture of the bristles is desired. The hog bristles offer excellent springiness and hold their shape well.

Why choose size number 16?
Brush number 16 is one of the medium sizes, which means you have a good balance between reach and control. With this size you can work both broader areas and details. It is a versatile size suitable for a range of techniques.

The benefits of the unvarnished wooden handle
This Pelikan brush has deliberately been given an unvarnished wooden handle. This provides a natural grip that does not become slippery from moisture or paint on your fingers. The unvarnished handle gives you more control while working and feels comfortable during longer painting sessions. Moreover, unvarnished wood is easier to clean of any paint splashes.

Practical tip for maintenance
Clean the brush immediately after use with lukewarm water and mild soap. Carefully reshape the bristles to their original form and let the brush dry flat. Store the brush upright with the bristles facing up to extend the lifespan of the hog bristles and retain their shape.
