What does a pigment marker do and when do you use one?
A pigment marker such as the POSCA PC-5M uses pigment ink instead of regular marker ink, giving you opaque colours that remain clearly visible even on dark surfaces. You need this type of marker when you want to draw or write on materials that ordinary markers soak into or don't cover well, such as plastic, metal, glass or coloured paper.

Why choose this medium-sized version?
With a line width of 1.8–2.5 mm, the PC-5M sits precisely between fine and bold. This width makes it suitable for both text and simple drawings. You get sufficient coverage for filling in areas, yet can still create details that are difficult to achieve with thicker markers.

Advantages of the white colour
White is the most opaque colour among pigment markers and provides the strongest contrast on dark surfaces. This white POSCA marker lets you add highlights to blackboards, dark-coloured paper or coloured objects where other colours would disappear.

Practical tip for use
The round tip ensures an even line width when you hold the marker upright. Always shake the marker well before use and press the tip onto paper a few times until the ink comes through. Store the marker horizontally to prevent the tip from drying out, and always make sure the cap is firmly closed.
