This flat brush by Van Gogh has fine, golden polyester fibres that spread paint beautifully and evenly. Thanks to the seamless brass ferrule and long, glossy handle, you paint precisely and comfortably, time after time.
When do you choose this product?
When to choose synthetic oil paint brushes
This brush with gold-coloured polyester fibres has been specially developed for oil painting techniques. You need this brush when you want to paint with oil paint and are looking for a reliable, durable brush that stands up well to the solvents in oil paint. Synthetic fibres hold their shape better than natural hair and are easier to clean.
Why size 18 and a flat shape are practical
The flat shape makes this brush suitable for laying down flat areas, mixing colours on the canvas and creating broad brushstrokes. Size 18 offers a medium brush width that is versatile, both for detailed work and for filling larger surfaces. This size gives you control without being too small for efficient working.
Durable construction with nickel-plated brass ferrule
The seamless nickel-plated brass ferrule ensures a firm connection between the fibres and the handle. This construction prevents the fibres from coming loose while you paint, which is essential when working with the somewhat heavier consistency of oil paint. The flattened shape of the ferrule contributes to the stability of the brush shape.
Maintenance and compatibility
Always clean this brush thoroughly after use with turpentine or a suitable solvent for oil paint, followed by soap and water. The lacquered handle is resistant to contact with solvents and stays looking good. Store the brush lying flat or hanging to prevent the fibres from becoming distorted.
