What does this masking tape do and when do you need it?

Masking tape is used to cover surfaces you want to protect during painting, decorating or other jobs where you want clean, sharp lines. The WESTEX Gold Premium is a paper masking tape, 50 mm wide and 50 metres long, which makes it suitable for broad areas such as window frames, facades or large panels.

Why this particular size and variant?

At a width of 50 mm, you cover more in a single pass than with narrower standard tapes, which is handy for wider edges or when you want to tape off twice. This tape is especially suitable for double taping, where two layers are applied over each other for extra sealing or protection of the surface underneath.

An honest look at the main features

The tape is resistant to UV radiation (UV90) and heat-resistant up to 150 degrees, which makes it usable for outdoor jobs in the sun or applications near heat sources. In addition, the tape has high wet resistance, so it stays firmly in place even in damp conditions. The thin, flexible material makes the tape easy to apply around corners and curved surfaces without tearing, and it unrolls very smoothly so you can get to work quickly and without frustration.

Practical tip for use

Thanks to the UV90 resistance and heat resistance up to 150 degrees, this masking tape is also suitable for outdoor painting or in environments where ordinary masking tape lifts early or discolours. Don't leave the tape on for too long after painting, so you always get clean lines without leaving adhesive residue on the surface.
