When do you need a 6B pencil?
Use a 6B pencil when you want to make very soft, dark lines. This degree of hardness is ideal for artistic drawings, sketches and adding deep shadows. The soft graphite releases pigment easily, so you can create intense black lines with little pressure.

Why choose the hexagonal shape?
The hexagonal design of this BIC Criterium 550 pencil offers a stable grip while drawing. The angular shape prevents the pencil from rolling off your workspace and gives you more control over your line drawing. This is especially useful for detailed work where precision matters.

Green lacquered for easy recognition
This pencil has a green lacquered finish with no eraser at the end. The green colour makes it easy to spot among other pencils in your pencil case or on your desk. Without an eraser, the pencil stays lighter in weight and you have more control over erasing with a separate eraser.

Practical tip for use
Store your 6B pencil in a pencil case or pen holder to protect the soft tip from breaking. Because of the soft graphite composition, the tip wears down faster than with harder pencils, so keep a pencil sharpener handy. The soft graphite can also smudge easily, so place a sheet of paper under your hand while drawing.
