When do you need a yellow ink cartridge?
A yellow ink cartridge such as the Canon BCI-6Y is what you use when you want to print colour documents and the yellow in your printer runs out. Yellow is one of the three primary colours in colour printers and is essential for mixing greens, orange and other warm colours. Without a working yellow cartridge, your photos and documents will print incomplete or discoloured.

Specifically for older Canon printers
This BCI-6Y ink cartridge is designed for a specific generation of Canon printers from the early 2000s. You choose this model when you have one of the compatible printers, such as the BJC-8200, I560, I860, I950 or PIXMA IP3000 series. These cartridges work with the individual ink system, in which each colour can be replaced separately, which is more cost-effective than combined cartridges.

Canon OEM quality
As an original Canon cartridge (OEM), the BCI-6Y is matched to the specific technology of your printer. The ink formulation ensures consistent colour reproduction and prevents clogging of the print head. The original product has reference number 4708A002 and offers the reliability you can expect from Canon quality.

Check your printer model first
Before ordering, check whether your printer is indeed compatible with the BCI-6Y series. Look at the rating plate of your printer or the manual for the exact model number. Printers such as the PIXMA IP4000, IP5000, MP750 and MP760 use this type of cartridge, but newer PIXMA models often work with a different cartridge system.
