What does this product do, and when do you need it?
The Canon PGI-2500XL Multipack contains four ink cartridges — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — in a single package. You choose this pack when you regularly print documents or images and don't want to keep buying individual cartridges. It is suitable for use in Canon Maxify printers, a printer range aimed specifically at business use.

Why the XL variant and why this multipack?
The XL designation stands for high capacity, which means you can print more pages per cartridge than with the standard version. The black cartridge is good for approximately 2,500 pages, while cyan yields around 1,755 pages, yellow around 1,520 pages and magenta around 1,295 pages. Because you have all four colours in stock at once, you are less likely to run out of ink in the middle of a print job.

Honest about the capacity differences
It is worth noting that the page yield varies considerably between colours. Magenta has the lowest capacity of the four cartridges, which means you will likely need to replace this one sooner than the others. Keep this in mind if you print a lot of colour documents with heavy magenta usage, so you have a replacement cartridge ready in good time.

Compatibility: check your printer model
This multipack works only with printers from the Canon Maxify MB and IB series. Compatible models include the MB4050, MB4150, MB5000, MB5100, MB5300, MB5400, MB5450 and variants thereof, as well as the IB4000, IB4100, IB4050 and IB4150. Check your exact printer model before purchasing, as PGI-2500XL cartridges cannot be used universally in other Canon ranges such as the Pixma line.
