What is a watercolour pad and when do you use it?
A watercolour pad is special paper that is gummed on one side, so the sheets stay in place while you paint. You need this when working with wet techniques such as watercolour, gouache or acrylic, because ordinary paper would curl or tear from the moisture.

Why this format of 180 × 250 mm?
This compact size is ideal for studies, sketches and smaller works. You can easily take it along, and it fits on most drawing boards or desks. The 12 sheets give you enough room to experiment without having to buy a large block straight away.

The benefits of 300 gram paper with a fine texture
The paper weight of 300 grams ensures the paper is sturdy enough to absorb moisture without bleeding through. The fine surface texture gives you control over your brush and ensures even colour distribution. Because the paper is acid-free and fungicide-treated, your artworks stay beautiful for longer and you won't get stains from mould.

Practical tip for use
The pad is gummed along the short edge, which means that once it has dried you can carefully loosen the sheets with a palette knife or thin blade. Always start at a corner and work slowly along the glued edge. Thanks to this paper's correction properties, you can work away small mistakes before the paint has completely dried.
