When do you need 300 g/m² watercolour paper?
Watercolour paper of 300 grams per square metre is specially developed for wet painting techniques such as watercolour, gouache and aquarelle. The heavier paper weight ensures that the paper keeps its shape when you use water, without curling or tearing. You choose this type of paper when you want to get serious about water-based techniques.

Why A4 format in a block?
The A4 format of 210 x 297 mm offers enough space for studies, sketches and smaller artworks. The block format has an important advantage: all sheets are glued together along the short edge. This keeps the paper taut and flat while you paint, so you won't suffer from wavy or buckling paper caused by moisture.

Fine texture for detail and control
This Canson Montval paper has a fine surface texture that is ideal for detailed work and beginner watercolourists. The fine texture absorbs the paint evenly and gives you more control over how the paint spreads than rough watercolour paper does. This way you can achieve both soft transitions and sharp details.

Practical tip for optimal use
With 50 sheets in the block, you have enough material for longer projects. Only tear a sheet off the block once your artwork is completely dry. Thanks to the glued short edge, the paper stays nicely taut while you work. Store the block in a dry place to prevent the sheets from sticking together due to moisture.
