When do you need a sketch pad with a linen texture?
The CANSON Figueras sketch pad has been specially developed for oil paint and oil pastels. When you work with these techniques, you need a surface that absorbs the paint well without bleeding through to the sheets underneath. This sketch pad offers exactly those properties thanks to its unique linen texture.

Why choose this format and this composition?
With a size of 500×700 mm, you have enough room for medium-sized paintings and studies. The pad contains 10 sheets of 290 g/m², which forms a sturdy base for your artwork. The sheets are glued along the short edge, so you can easily tear off a sheet without disturbing the rest of the pad.

How does the bleed protection work?
The paper has a special bleed barrier that prevents oil paint or oil pastels from seeping through the paper to the sheets underneath. This means you can work without worry with paint that would normally bleed through. The paper is also acid-free and resistant to ageing, which benefits the lifespan of your artworks.

Practical tip for optimal use
The linen texture of this paper imitates the texture of real canvas, which is ideal for oil painting techniques. Start with thin layers of paint and gradually build up - this way you make optimal use of the absorption properties. Store unused sheets dry and flat to preserve the quality of the linen texture.
