What does this sketchbook do?
This Canson Mi-Teintes sketchbook has been specially developed for working with pastel and chalk. The paper has two different textures: one side has a honeycomb structure and the other side a finer grain. This allows you to create different effects depending on which side you use.

Why choose this coloured paper format?
With 20 sheets in four shades of grey, you get a varied base for your artworks. The block contains 5 sheets each of rauchgrau, rotgrau meliert, graumeliert and blaugrau. These neutral, mottled colours form an ideal background for pastel and chalk work because they let the colours of your materials shine through beautifully.

The advantage of the dual texture
Thanks to the honeycomb structure on one side, you can hold pastel pigment well for intense areas of colour. The fine grain on the other side is suitable for detailed work and soft transitions. You simply choose the side that suits the effect you want in your drawing.

Practical working properties
The 160 gram per square metre paper is sturdy enough to carry several layers of pastel or chalk without tearing. The block is glued along the short edge, so you can easily tear off a sheet when you are finished. The neutral grey shades instantly add depth to your work and ensure that both light and dark pastel tones come into their own.
