What is watercolour pencil and when do you use it?
Watercolour pencil combines the precision of a pencil with the possibilities of watercolour paint. You use it for dry sketches and drawings, but as soon as you add water, smooth watercolour effects appear. This makes it ideal for artists who want to draw in detail and also create painterly transitions in a single medium.

Why choose this 3.8 mm thickness?
The 3.8 mm thickness offers the perfect balance between control and coverage. You can draw fine lines for details as well as colour in broad areas for backgrounds. This thickness is thick enough for expressive strokes, but not so thick that you lose control during precise work.

Lightfast pigments for lasting results
This watercolour pencil contains high-quality pigments with high lightfastness, which means your artworks won't fade quickly when exposed to light. The colour brilliance ensures vibrant, saturated colours that retain their intensity. Thanks to the special bonding process, the core is break-protected, so it is less likely to snap during use.

Practical tip for optimal results
At a length of 176 mm, you'll enjoy this pencil for a long time. For the best watercolour effects, use a damp brush on your drawing - start with little water and build up gradually. Scarlet red (colour code 219) is perfect for warm accents and blends well with other colours from the Albrecht Dürer range.
