What does this pastel pencil do?
This PITT PASTELL pencil from Faber-Castell is an artist's pencil specially developed for pastel techniques. You use it for drawing and sketching when you want to combine the soft, powdery texture of pastel with the precision of a pencil. It is suitable for both fine details and for filling larger areas.

Why choose this lead thickness?
With a lead thickness of 3.8 mm, this pencil offers a good balance between control and coverage. You can use it to create both fine, delicate details and broader strokes by holding the pencil at an angle. This thickness is ideal if you want to combine different line widths in one work without constantly switching tools.

Fat- and oil-free composition
This pastel pencil is formulated to be fat- and oil-free, which means it does not leave a greasy residue on paper and combines well with other drawing materials. The colours remain bright and brilliant, while the high lightfastness ensures your artworks do not fade quickly. These properties make it suitable for professional artistic work.

Practical usage tips
You can sharpen this pencil with either a craft knife or ordinary pencil sharpeners, giving you flexibility in your working method. At a length of 176 mm, it sits comfortably in the hand for longer drawing sessions. Store the pencil horizontally to prevent the lead from breaking, especially since pastel leads are more fragile than graphite.
