When do you need professional coloured pencils?
Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils are developed for artists who work with intensive colour applications. You choose this type of coloured pencil when you create detailed work, produce technical drawings or realise artistic projects where colour lightfastness is crucial.

Why choose the 3.8 mm lead diameter?
These coloured pencils have a relatively thick lead of 3.8 mm, allowing you to create both fine lines and broader areas of colour. The round shape gives you optimal grip and control while drawing. With a length of 176 mm, they sit comfortably in the hand for prolonged use.

What does erasable and waterproof mean?
The oil-based crayon lead in these Polychromos pencils is specially formulated to be erasable and waterproof. This means your drawings won't blur on contact with water, and the colours won't wear away under normal use. The lead is also break-resistant, which offers important advantages during intensive drawing work.

Practical tip for colour code identification
This particular pencil has colour code 199, which corresponds to black in the Faber-Castell system. This coding helps you reorder exactly the same colours and ensures consistency in your work. It is best to store the pencils horizontally to keep the oil-based crayon lead in optimal condition.
