What does a carbon ribbon do and when do you need one?
A carbon ribbon transfers ink in older typewriters and certain printers with a typewheel mechanism. You need this specific ribbon if you still use classic IBM typewriters or certain Panasonic models that rely on this carbon system to print documents.

Why this 8 mm width with a 420 metre length?
This carbon ribbon has a width of 8 mm and a length of 420 metres, which are standard dimensions for the compatible typewriters. These measurements ensure the ribbon fits perfectly in your machine's mechanism and offers enough capacity for long-term use without frequent replacement.

Extensive compatibility with IBM and Panasonic models
This Kores carbon ribbon is specifically designed for a wide range of IBM models, including the 1500, 2000, 2100, 2500, 3000 series and various Typenrad models such as the 6746 and 6747. Panasonic typewriters such as the KX-E7500 and KX-E8000 can also use this ribbon, making it a versatile choice.

Practical tip for correct identification
Check the type number of your typewriter before ordering. This ribbon falls under Gruppe 173 and has reference code G173CFS. You can usually find the type number on a label on the back or underside of your machine. After installation, always keep the packaging with the type number for future orders.
