When do you need a short network patch cable?
A Cat 6 U/UTP patch cable is used to connect network components directly to each other, such as a computer to a switch or router. The 0.5 metre length is ideal for short distances in server cabinets, under desks or between devices that are close together.

Why Cat 6 for your network connection?
Category 6 cables are suitable for modern office environments and support high-speed connections. The U/UTP (unshielded) design is sufficient for most standard applications where no extreme electromagnetic interference occurs. The 1:1 wiring ensures a direct connection between both cable ends.

What do the technical specifications mean?
This cable has 4 wire pairs of AWG 24/7 with CCA conductors and a PVC jacket. The gold-plated contacts in the RJ45 connectors provide better conductivity and reduce corrosion. The hood is moulded for extra durability, and the blue strain relief protects against cable breakage when bent.

Practical installation and identification
The cable features clear printing with the category and cable type, which is handy for documentation and maintenance of your network installation. Thanks to the short length, you keep your workspace tidy without unnecessary cable length. Do check that both devices have standard RJ45 network ports.
