What does a Cat6A network cable do, and when do you need one?

A Cat6A network cable provides a reliable, fast network connection between devices such as computers, switches and routers. You need this cable when you want a stable internet connection or want to link devices together on a network. The 1-metre length makes this cable ideal for short distances, for example between your computer and a nearby switch.

Why choose the shielded S/FTP version?

This cable has a PIMF shielded design, meaning that each wire pair is individually shielded against electromagnetic interference. This keeps your network connection stable, even in environments with a lot of electronic equipment. The shielded RJ45 connectors with a moulded hood offer extra protection against interference and mechanical damage.

The benefits of an LSZH sheath and gold-plated contacts

The LSZH sheath ensures that fewer harmful gases are released when heated, which is especially important in office environments. The gold-plated contacts in the connectors prevent corrosion and guarantee a long-lasting, good connection. The pink strain relief makes the cable easy to recognise and protects against breakage when bent.

Compatibility and practical use

This Cat6A cable has a 1:1 wiring scheme with AWG 26/7 copper wires, making it compatible with all standard network equipment. The cable print clearly shows the category and cable type, which is handy for identification during installation or maintenance. Thanks to its short length of 1 metre, this cable is perfect for patch panels or direct device connections without unnecessary excess cable.
