What does this masking tape do?

The WESTEX Gold Economy masking tape is a combination product: a thin, flexible and tear-resistant masking tape that works together with an electrostatic film to mask surfaces during painting or spraying work. You use this when you want sharp paint edges without paint seeping through or spattering onto adjacent surfaces.

Why choose this variant?

This size — 2,700 mm wide film combined with a 16-metre roll — is suitable when you want to cover larger surfaces, such as when painting walls, window frames or car parts. The width of the film allows you to protect a considerable area with a single strip, which saves time compared with masking in layers using narrow tape.

Honest about the most important feature

The electrostatic film clings to the surface without adhesive, so it stays in place without extra materials or the risk of adhesive residue. The acrylic adhesive sits on the tape section and ensures a neat seal along the edge. Because the tape is very thin and flexible, you can also apply it along curved or irregular edges without it creasing or coming loose. The system is also suitable for double masking, which is handy for multi-stage painting jobs.

Practical tip when using

Unroll the tape along the edge of the surface to be protected, and then let the electrostatic film unfold by itself over the area to be covered. Thanks to its very light unrolling, you work quickly without the tape sticking to itself. Remove the tape immediately after painting, while the paint has not yet fully cured, for the sharpest final line.
