What is this masking tape used for and when do you need it?

Masking tape is used to temporarily cover surfaces during painting or renovation work, so that paint, varnish or coating only ends up where you want it. This WESTEX Strong masking tape in red is suitable for situations where ordinary masking tape falls short, such as longer projects or more demanding surfaces.

Why choose this size and variant?

With a width of 30 mm and a roll length of 50 m, this tape covers a large area without you having to change rolls constantly. The 30 mm width is a practical choice for masking edges, window frames and profiles where you need a slightly wider protective strip than a narrow roll offers.

An honest explanation of the main features

This is a washi masking tape, which means it is paper-based but reinforced with fibres, combining tear resistance with flexibility. The high water resistance and suitability for slightly damp surfaces make it usable on surfaces that are not completely dry. The UV resistance (UV60) indicates that the tape withstands exposure to UV radiation to a certain level, which is relevant for outdoor applications or rooms with a lot of daylight. Because the tape unrolls very easily, you can work with it without it sticking to itself or your hands.

Practical tip for use

Thanks to its suitability for double masking, you can also apply this tape with an overlap to seal wider areas extra well. For outdoor applications, make sure you remove the tape after the job within the period specified by UV60, so that it comes off easily afterwards without leaving adhesive residue behind.
