What does this masking tape do and when do you need it?

Masking tape is used to shield surfaces during painting or finishing work. This WESTEX Strong tape is designed specifically for situations where ordinary masking tape falls short, for example on longer outdoor projects or in damp environments such as bathrooms or cellars.

Why this variant is the right choice

The tape is made from washi paper with fibre reinforcement, so it stays thin and flexible while still offering tear resistance. Because it unrolls very easily, you work quickly without the tape sticking or curling on the roll. The width of 50 mm makes it suitable for masking wider edges, frames or profiles where a narrower tape would require several strips.

Honest information about UV resistance

The tape is UV-resistant up to UV60, which means it can withstand a certain degree of sun exposure without degrading or leaving adhesive residue. This makes it usable for outdoor applications, but keep in mind that UV60 is a specific classification. Do not leave the tape in intense sunlight for longer than necessary to ensure it can be removed without residue.

Practical tip for use

The tape is suitable for double masking, meaning you can stick it over a tape that has already been applied for extra protection on critical edges. Because it also adheres well to slightly damp surfaces, it bonds nicely to surfaces that are not completely dry. Always remove the tape after painting at a 45-degree angle for the best result.
