When do you choose this product?
What do watercolour pencils do, and when do you need them?
Watercolour pencils combine the precision of coloured pencils with the possibilities of watercolour paint. You use them for drawing and colouring, but you can also blend them with water to apply watercolour techniques. They are ideal for artists who want to use both dry and wet techniques, or for beginners who want to experiment with watercolour techniques step by step.
Why choose this set of 18 colours?
This set offers an extensive colour palette with 18 different shades, from basic colours such as blue, red and yellow to special colours such as malachite green, cinnabar red and ochre. With this variety you can create both realistic and creative artworks without having to buy extra colours straight away. The metal case ensures that your pencils stay well protected and neatly organised.
Hard lead for durable use
These pencils have a hard lead of 3.0 mm, which means they wear down more slowly than softer varieties. The hexagonal shape prevents the pencils from rolling away while you work. Thanks to the hard lead, you keep a sharp point for longer, so you can colour in both fine details and larger areas.
Practical tip for the best results
The pencils are fully water-soluble, which means you can go over your drawing with a damp brush to create watercolour effects. Always start by drawing dry and then gradually add water. Thanks to their exceptional lightfastness, your artworks won't fade quickly, even with prolonged exposure to light.

Dex knows - user tips
Shake the box of coloured pencils gently before use to make sure they are properly seated, as the wooden casing can give slightly when sharpening, so preferably use a good pencil sharpener. Because the pencils are water-soluble, you can work with a damp brush after drawing for a watercolour effect: let the paper dry completely before you apply a new layer.
