What is this drawing paper for, and when do you use it?
Canson Mi-Teintes drawing paper has been specially developed for dry drawing media such as charcoal, pastel, chalk and pencil. You use this paper when working on drawings that require more grip and texture than ordinary drawing paper can offer. The black paper offers unique possibilities for high-contrast artworks in which you can highlight with light colours.

Why this 160 g/m² weight is the right choice
With a weight of 160 g/m², this paper has the ideal sturdiness for dry drawing media without becoming too heavy. This grammage prevents tearing during intensive use of pastels or charcoal, while the paper remains supple enough to work with easily. The 500×650 mm size gives you ample room for larger compositions.

The advantages of black drawing paper
Black paper creates dramatic effects and allows you to think about light and shadow in a different way. Instead of adding dark areas, you work out the light areas with white chalk or light pastels. This gives your drawings a striking appearance and helps you understand light falling and contrast.

Practical storage and use
The pack contains 10 sheets, which is handy for projects or series of drawings. Store the paper flat and dry to prevent creasing. The Mi-Teintes paper has a lightly textured surface that holds the drawing medium well, so you are less likely to smudge while drawing.
