When do you need a special sketchbook?
This Canson Figueras sketchbook is designed for artists who work with oil paint and oil pastels. Thanks to the special linen texture, you get the feel of a real canvas, but on paper. Choose this when you want to try oil paint without investing straight away in an expensive canvas, or when you want to paint on the go.

Why this format and composition?
The format of 330×240 mm offers enough room for detailed studies and smaller paintings. At 290 g/m², this paper is sturdy enough to absorb the oil from the paint without bleeding through. The 10 sheets are glued along the short side, so you can use the block horizontally and easily tear off a sheet.

Bleed-resistant protection
The most important feature of this sketchbook is the bleed barrier – a special layer that prevents oil from seeping through to the sheets underneath. This means you can make optimal use of all 10 sheets without damaging previous works. The acid-free paper ensures that your artworks won't discolour or become brittle over time.

Practical tip
Besides oil paint, you can also use this block for oil pastels, which have a similar oily composition. Always place an extra sheet underneath your work to protect the surface, even though the block has a bleed barrier. Store the block flat and dry to keep the linen texture intact.
