For which techniques is this sketchpad suitable?
This CANSON Figueras sketchpad is specially developed for oil paint and oil pastels. The linen texture replicates the surface of a traditional painter's canvas, giving you the authentic experience of painting on canvas. Thanks to the bleed-blocking layer, your base stays clean, even when using oily materials.

Why choose this size and quantity?
The 400×500 mm format offers ample space for extensive studies and smaller paintings. With 10 sheets, you get enough paper for a complete series of exercises or several artworks. The block is glued along the short side, which ensures stability while painting and makes it easy to detach finished works.

Durability that protects your artwork
The 290 g/m² paper is acid-free and resistant to ageing, meaning your artworks will retain their quality over the years. These properties are essential when working with oily materials that can cause chemical reactions with inferior paper. The sturdy paper thickness prevents tearing during intensive use.

Practical tip for optimal use
Store the block horizontally to prevent the sheets from warping. The linen texture works best when you move your brush in different directions – experiment with the texture to create interesting effects. For oil pastels, you can use the grain of the paper to create beautiful colour transitions.
