These Supracolor watercolour pencils from Caran d'Ache instantly give your drawings an artistic touch. The soft lead in 12 colours can be effortlessly worked up with water for beautiful paint effects.
When do you choose this product?
When do you need watercolour pencils?
Watercolour pencils combine the precision of coloured pencils with the paint effects of watercolour. You use them when you want to draw in detail but also want to add watercolour effects with water. This technique gives you control over both dry and wet textures in one artwork.
Why choose this set of 12 colours?
This Caran d'Ache set contains a carefully composed basic palette with essential colours such as white, grey, black, various primary colours and natural tones. With 12 colours, you have enough variety for most projects without being overwhelmed by choice, which is ideal for beginners to advanced users.
What makes the soft lead special?
The soft 3.8 mm lead delivers rich pigment that dissolves well in water. This ensures intense colour release when used dry and beautiful paint effects when you add water. The soft texture makes it easy to colour in areas without harsh lines.
Practical details for use
The hexagonal cedarwood of the pencils prevents them from rolling off your worktable and sits comfortably in your hand. You can use the pencils on watercolour paper or sturdier drawing paper that can tolerate water without curling.
