What is a lever arch file and when do you need one?

A lever arch file is used to keep loose, hole-punched documents together in a single folder without binding them. This is handy when you regularly add or remove documents, such as project files, invoices or meeting papers that you keep up to date.

Why this A4 card version?

This EXACOMPTA lever arch file is made for A4 documents and measures 240 x 320 mm, which fits standard hole-punched A4 paper precisely. The card features a Colorspan coating with a weight of 355 g/m², which makes the file sturdier than a plain paper version and better able to withstand daily use.

Honest about capacity

The built-in lever mechanism holds up to 350 sheets. That's a substantial stack, but bear in mind that at full capacity the folder becomes thicker and harder to handle. For a well-organised file, you'll find it more comfortable to fill it to around half, for example, so you can flip through your documents easily and the mechanism isn't under strain.

Practical tip for use and storage

The orange colour makes this lever arch file instantly recognisable when you store several together in a drawer or on a shelf. You can use colour coding to tell different projects or categories apart. When using it, make sure your documents have standard European punched holes so they fit correctly in the lever mechanism.
