When do you need a Cat 6 network cable?
A Cat 6 network cable is used to connect devices directly to your router, switch or modem for a stable internet connection. This is especially useful for devices that need a lot of bandwidth, such as desktop computers, NAS systems or gaming consoles where a wireless connection may not be fast enough.

Why choose a 5-metre length?
With 5 metres you have enough cable to connect devices that are a little further from your router or switch, without having an excessively long cable that creates clutter. This length is ideal for use within one room or to reach an adjoining space, for example from your meter cupboard to your workspace.

What do U/UTP and unshielded mean?
This cable is unshielded (U/UTP), which means it has no additional protection against electromagnetic interference. For normal office and home environments this is entirely sufficient and it ensures a good price-to-quality ratio. The CCA wires ensure reliable signal transmission at this cable length.

Practical compatibility
The RJ45 connectors with gold-plated contacts fit all standard network ports on routers, switches, computers and other network equipment. The white colour blends discreetly into light walls and skirting boards. Take care not to bend the cable too sharply near the connectors, even though the strain relief protects against kinking.
