When do you need an H pencil?
You choose a pencil with hardness H when you are doing precision work where thin, light lines are required. This type of pencil is ideal for technical drawing, sketching preliminary designs or situations where you will need to erase later. The H hardness ensures that the graphite line is less dark than with soft pencils, giving you more control over line thickness.

Why choose this hexagonal shape?
The hexagonal shape prevents the pencil from rolling off your drawing board or desk, which is especially handy during long drawing sessions. This shape also sits stably in your hand and provides more grip than round pencils. The green lacquered surface with water-based lacquer technology ensures a durable finish that withstands daily use.

Strong graphite bond thanks to special bonding
This Faber-Castell pencil features a special bonding technique that protects the graphite lead from breaking. This break-resistant construction means the approximately 2 mm thick lead is less likely to snap while sharpening or under pressure while drawing. This is particularly valuable for precision drawing, where a broken tip can immediately disrupt your work.

Compatible with standard pencil sharpeners
Thanks to its standard diameter, this pencil works with regular pencil sharpeners and mechanical sharpening machines. Do note that when sharpening H pencils, you should not apply too much pressure, as the harder graphite may splinter. Preferably store the pencil lying down to protect the tip.
