When do you need an extremely matt drawing instrument?
The Faber-Castell PITT Graphite Matt pencil has been developed for artists who work with graphite techniques where reflection is a problem. Thanks to the special matt graphite formula, you get a diffused light image on paper, so your drawing is easier to view under different lighting conditions and to scan or photograph without distracting glare.

Soft graphite deposit for maximum tonal density
The exceptionally soft graphite deposit produces a very deep, rich tone. This makes the pencil ideal for creating intense shadows, dark accents and areas where you need maximum tonal density. You can build up excellent contrasts in portraits or landscape drawings.

Matt graphite release without compromise
The special graphite composition ensures a particularly soft release that dries matt on paper. This means your drawing gets a velvety finish without the shiny properties of regular pencils. The high tonal density also gives you greater control over subtle transitions in your shading.

Durability thanks to a waterproof lacquer coating
The pencil is treated with a waterproof lacquer that offers extra break resistance. This is practically important with soft graphite, which is naturally more prone to breaking. The coating also protects your hands from graphite smudges during extended drawing sessions and ensures the pencil keeps its shape, even under intensive use.
