What does this rollerball pen do and when do you need it?

A rollerball pen is the right choice when you want smooth, precise writing without the pressure a ballpoint requires. The Free Ink from Faber-Castell uses liquid ink that flows smoothly, making writing over longer periods feel more comfortable. That makes it suitable for notes, daily correspondence or annotations where legibility matters.

Why the 0.4 mm fine point?

With a writing width of 0.4 mm and a conical tip, this rollerball lays down a fine, sharp line. That is handy if you have small handwriting, write in diaries or want to note a lot of detail without the letters running into each other. The wine-red ink colour stands apart from standard black or blue and is therefore useful for highlighting, annotations or categorising notes.

An honest look at the recycled content

The plastic parts of this pen are 83% made from recycled plastic. This means that the majority of the material gets a second life, although not all components are fully recyclable. The pen itself is also recyclable, which contributes to a more conscious approach to disposable writing equipment. If sustainability plays a part in your choice, this is a concrete and measurable fact.

Practical tip: keep an eye on the ink

The Free Ink has a viewing window so you can check the ink supply without opening the pen. That way you'll see in time when the ink is running low and won't unexpectedly be left without one during a meeting or working day. The light grey casing makes the window clearly visible. Store the pen with the cap on to prevent the conical tip from drying out.
