What is a keilrahmen and when do you use one?
A keilrahmen is a canvas stretched taut over a wooden frame, essential for painting. You need one when you want to paint on a stable, professional surface that won't sag or crease during your work.

Why choose this 50×50 cm size?
The square 50×50 cm format offers you the perfect balance between working space and manageability. This size is ideal for portraits, still lifes or abstract compositions where you have enough room for detail without the canvas becoming too large for your workspace.

The benefits of 100% cotton at 400 g/m²
This canvas is made from 100% cotton weighing 400 g/m² and is four-times primed. The lightly absorbent primer ensures your paint adheres well without soaking too much into the canvas. The cotton offers a natural texture that many artists prefer over synthetic alternatives.

Suitable for various painting techniques
Thanks to the specific primer, you can use this keilrahmen for oil paint, acrylic paint and gouache. The 19 x 38 mm stretcher bar gives the frame sufficient rigidity to maintain the tension of the canvas, even when using wetter painting techniques that put more tension on the material.
