When do you need a Cat 5e network patch cable?
A Cat 5e patch cable is used to connect devices in your network to each other, such as computers, switches, routers or printers. This cable is ideal for connections within your office where you need reliable internet connections.

What does the U/UTP specification mean?
This cable is unshielded (U/UTP), which means there is no additional shielding around the wires. The cable has 4 x 2 AWG 26/7 wires with a 1:1 connection, so all signals travel directly from one connector to the other. For standard office environments without extreme electromagnetic interference, this unshielded version is entirely suitable.

Note the CCA wires during installation
This cable has CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium) wires, which means the cores are aluminium with a copper coating. The gold-plated contacts in the RJ45 connectors ensure good connection quality. Please note that CCA cables have slightly more resistance than pure copper cables, but for office applications this is not a problem.
