When you choose extra thick coloured pencils

These Faber-Castell Jumbo pencils are specially designed for young children who are still learning to write and draw. With an extra thick core of 5.3 mm, they are perfect for small hands that still struggle with fine motor skills. The triangular shape helps children automatically develop the correct pencil grip.

Why the triangular shape makes the difference

The triangular shape is no coincidence - it encourages the natural tripod grip that is essential for writing later on. Your fingers fall naturally into the right place, which prevents cramp and fatigue. This makes longer drawing and colouring sessions more comfortable for children in the pre-school stage.

Anti-slip grip for better control

The Soft-Grip Zone ensures the pencil doesn't slip out of small hands, even during enthusiastic use. This anti-slip coating gives children more confidence while drawing and helps them develop a stable pencil grip. The flamingo pink colour is bright and opaque on paper.

Practical details for everyday use

At a length of 175 mm, these pencils sit comfortably in children's hands without being too heavy. The name field makes them ideal for use at school or in childcare - you can easily write your child's name on them. The water-soluble property means you can wash out the colours with a wet brush for watercolour effects.
