When do you choose this product?
What is a stretched canvas?
A stretched canvas is a ready-to-use canvas already stretched over a frame, so you can start painting straight away. The canvas has been pre-treated with a gesso primer and stretched over a wooden frame, so you can begin your artwork immediately without any preparation time.
Suitable for
These canvases are ideal for experiments, (children's) parties and other hobby applications. With four pieces in the pack, you can experiment or create several variations on the same subject.
The quality of the 100% cotton canvas
This canvas is made of 100% cotton with a weight of 380 grams per square metre, providing a sturdy surface suitable for various painting techniques. The canvas is triple-primed with gesso, so the paint adheres well and does not soak into the canvas. The gesso primer prevents oil from oil paints from damaging the canvas.
Practical details of the stretcher frame
The canvas is stretched over a 16 mm thick keilrahmen (wedged stretcher frame) made of pine wood. Pine wooden wedges are included with delivery, which you can use to re-tighten the canvas later if it loosens due to humidity or use. The stretcher frame is sturdy enough to keep the canvas taut while you paint.
