When do you choose this product?
When do you need a canvas?
A canvas is used for making paintings with paint, such as acrylic or oil paint. This canvas provides a stable surface that takes up your paint well without sagging or tearing. You choose a stretched canvas when you want to start painting straight away without having to stretch a canvas yourself.
Why choose this canvas?
This canvas is ideal for smaller artworks, studies and exercises. With 5 pieces in the pack, you can create several projects or try out different techniques without having to order new canvases straight away.
What makes this canvas suitable for painting?
The canvas is made of 100% cotton with a weight of 380 g/m² and has a three-layer gesso primer. This gesso preparation ensures that your paint adheres well to the canvas and does not soak into the fibres. The cotton offers a natural texture that many artists value for the grip it gives to the brush and paint.
Practical details for use
The canvas is stretched over a 16 mm pine stretcher frame and secured with staples. On delivery, you receive wooden wedges with which you can tighten the canvas if it becomes slightly looser over time. You place these wedges in the corners of the frame and gently tap them to create more tension.
