When should you choose a stretched canvas?
A stretched canvas is essential when you paint with oil paint, acrylic paint or work with the serviette technique. This canvas offers you a stable surface that does not sag while you work and ensures professional results. The 100% cotton fabric has already been primed four times, so you can start painting straight away without any preparation.

Why this 400×1000 mm format?
This size of 40 by 100 centimetres gives you room for landscapes, portraits or abstract works in panoramic format. The rectangular format is ideally suited to compositions where you want to make use of the width, such as cityscapes or natural scenes. The 38 mm frame depth provides sufficient stability at this larger size.

Benefits of cotton at 380 g/m²
The cotton canvas, weighing 380 grams per square metre, offers a fine texture that is suitable for detailed work. Cotton absorbs paint differently from linen and gives a more even application of paint. The four-layer primer prevents oil or acrylic paint from soaking into the canvas and protects the fibres from being damaged by acids in the paint.

Practical tip for use
The canvas is only stapled on the back, which gives the sides a neat, professional appearance. This makes it suitable for paintings you want to hang without a frame. Store the canvas in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight to prevent the primer from discolouring. For oil paint this canvas is ready to use straight away; for acrylic you may wish to apply an extra layer of acrylic primer.
