When do you need a 4H pencil?
The Mars Lumograph 4H pencil is used for technical drawing, architectural sketches and situations where you need to draw very light, precise lines. Because of the hard graphite composition, this pencil produces thin lines that are barely visible, ideal for construction lines and preliminary work that will be erased later.

Why choose the 4H degree of hardness?
The 4H degree of hardness means the graphite core is extra hard, so you can draw much longer before you need to sharpen. You get a consistent line width, and the graphite wears down minimally on the paper. This makes the pencil perfect for detailed work where you don't want dark strokes dominating your drawing.
