When do you choose this product?
When do you need canvas on stretcher bars?
Canvas on stretcher bars is used for painting with acrylic, oil or other paints. This product is ideal for experiments, hobby projects or when you want to create several works. The prepared surface means you can start painting straight away, without having to stretch or prepare the canvas yourself.
Why this product?
This canvas offers enough space for extensive compositions and remains easy to handle for transport and storage. For beginners and hobbyists, this is a practical product to experiment with.
Professional preparation with gesso primer
The canvas is primed with 3 layers of gesso, which means the cotton is already prepared for applying paint. The gesso primer provides an even, non-absorbent surface that prevents the paint from soaking into the canvas. The 100% cotton, weighing 380 grams per square metre, offers a sturdy, durable base that is suitable for various painting techniques.
Practical tensioning with wooden wedges
The canvas is stretched over a 16 mm pine stretcher frame and is supplied with wooden wedges included. You can use these wedges to tighten the canvas again over time, should it start to sag. Place the wedges into the corners of the frame and gently tap them further into the wood to increase the tension.
