When do you need a professional drawing pencil?
The STAEDTLER Mars Lumograph pencil is specially developed for technical drawing, sketching and graphic work. You choose this pencil when you need to draw precise lines or carry out detailed work where ordinary school pencils fall short. The 2B grade makes this pencil suitable for dark, soft lines and hatching.

Why choose grade 2B?
The 2B grade means this pencil is softer than a standard HB pencil and produces darker strokes. You mainly use 2B for artistic work, adding shadows and when you want expressive, dark lines. This grade offers the right balance between control and the intensity of your strokes.

What makes the lead extra strong?
This pencil has a core lead that is particularly break-resistant. This special bonding ensures that the graphite lead is firmly connected to the wood, so it is less likely to break during use. This is especially useful for intensive drawing and writing work where pressure is put on the pencil.

Practical advantages of the hexagonal shape
The hexagonal shape of this pencil prevents it from rolling off your drawing table and gives you a stable grip while you work. The blue lacquer makes the pencil easy to recognise among other drawing materials. With a lead diameter of 2.0 mm, you get consistent lines suitable for both fine detail and broad areas.
