When do you choose this product?
Which watercolour techniques call for a round brush?
A round watercolour brush is the workhorse of every watercolour painter and suits most painting techniques. You use this brush for laying down base washes, mixing colours on paper and for detail work. The round shape with a very fine tip makes this brush versatile enough for both large areas and precision work.
Why size 8 is the ideal middle ground
Size 8 gives you the perfect balance between paint capacity and control. This size is large enough to fill areas efficiently, yet small enough for detailed work such as painting petals or facial features. For beginner watercolourists, this size often forms the foundation of their brush collection.
Gold-coloured synthetic fibres: durable and affordable
The gold-coloured synthetic hair imitates the properties of natural hair but is much more durable. These fibres hold their shape better and last longer than real hair brushes. What's more, synthetic brushes are suitable for all water-based painting techniques and are easier to clean.
Take care to maintain your brush properly
Always rinse your brush thoroughly with lukewarm water after use and gently reshape the tip with your fingers. Store the brush flat or hang it with the tip pointing downwards. Thanks to the round, seamless nickel-plated brass ferrule, the bristles are held firmly in place, but avoid pulling on the fibres to extend the brush's lifespan.
