When do you need professional oil-based colour pencils?
This Faber-Castell POLYCHROMOS oil-based colour pencil has been specifically developed for artists who work with techniques where precision and colour fastness are crucial. You choose oil-based colour pencils when you are making realistic drawings, sketching portraits or creating illustrations where the colours must not fade or bleed.

Why this warm grey shade is essential
Warm Grey VI (colour code 275) is a widely used base shade for shadow work and creating depth in your artworks. This particular grey has warm undertones that blend perfectly with skin tones and natural materials, making it indispensable for portrait artists and realistic artwork.

Advantages of the oil-based colour lead
The 3.8 mm oil-based lead delivers rich colour and blends easily with other colours. The major advantage of this formula is that the pencil is both erasable and waterproof, so you won't get unwanted smudges while you work. In addition, the lead is break-resistant, meaning you'll have fewer problems with breaking points during intensive use.

Practical tip for the best results
The round shape of this 176 mm long pencil gives you full control over pressure and line work. For the best colour blending, you can combine different grey shades from the POLYCHROMOS range. Store the pencil horizontally to prevent the lead from deforming, and use a good pencil sharpener suitable for oil-based colour pencils.
