What does this coloured pencil do for artists?
The Faber-Castell Polychromos is a professional coloured pencil specially developed for artists. With its oil pastel core, this pencil delivers intense colours that are smudge-resistant and waterproof. You use this type of pencil when you want to create permanent drawings that retain their colour strength.

Why choose the emerald green variant?
Emerald green (colour code 163) is a rich, deep green that is perfectly suited to nature drawings, landscapes and botanical illustrations. This particular shade gives you a powerful green tone that blends well with other colours from the Polychromos range. The colour has enough intensity to be used both as a main colour and for accentuation.

Strong oil pastel core of 3.8 mm
The thick 3.8 mm core provides a sturdy base that does not break easily during use. This oil pastel composition allows you to draw both fine details and broad areas of colour. The round pencil sits comfortably in the hand, and the core remains stable, even with intensive use.

Practical tip for use
This pencil measures 176 mm in length and fits standard pencil sharpeners for thick cores. Thanks to its smudge-resistant and waterproof properties, you can apply different layers of colour over each other without the underlying colours bleeding. Store the pencil lying down to best protect the tip, and sharpen carefully with a quality sharpener suitable for oil pastel cores.
