What does this colouring pencil do?
This Faber-Castell Polychromos colouring pencil has been specially developed for artists who work with precision techniques. The oil-based pastel core delivers intense colour and blends easily, allowing you to achieve subtle colour transitions and fine details. You need this type of pencil when you are creating professional drawings, illustrations or artworks where colour fastness and precision are essential.

Why this 3.8 mm core thickness?
The 3.8 mm oil pastel core offers the perfect balance between fine detail work and flat areas of colour. This thickness is ideal for both sharp lines and soft shading. Thanks to the substantial core diameter, you can draw for long periods without constantly having to sharpen, which benefits your working rhythm.

Water-resistant and smudge-proof properties
This colouring pencil is water- and smudge-proof, meaning your work withstands moisture and will not smear on contact. This property makes the pencil suitable for mixed media techniques and ensures that your artwork remains durable. The break-resistant core prevents the pencil from snapping during intensive use.

Practical compatibility
The round profile, 176 mm in length, fits standard pencil holders and sharpeners. The colour code 264 refers to the specific shade phthalo green dark, so you can reorder exactly the same colour when your pencil runs out. Store the pencil horizontally to keep the oil pastel core in optimal condition.
