What does this coloured pencil do?
The Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencil has been specially developed for artists who work with professional colouring techniques. This pencil uses an oil pastel core that ensures intense colour release and smooth blending. You use this type of pencil when you are doing detailed colour work where precision and colour quality are essential.

Why choose the 3.8 mm core diameter?
The 3.8 mm oil pastel core offers the ideal balance between fine detail work and large-area colour filling. This core diameter is thicker than standard coloured pencils, so you can colour large surfaces more quickly without losing the ability to do precision work. The core is also break-resistant, which means you experience fewer broken points during intensive use.

Walnut brown for natural tones
Colour 177 walnut brown is a warm, natural brown shade that fits perfectly into earthy colour palettes. This particular brown has a rich undertone that blends beautifully with other colours from the Polychromos range. The oil pastel core ensures that the colour is fluid- and erasure-resistant, so your work remains preserved for a long time.

Compatibility and use
This round pencil, 176 mm in length, fits all standard pencil sharpeners and sharpeners for thick cores. Thanks to the oil-based core, you can combine this pencil well with other Polychromos colours for blending techniques. Please note that for the best results you should use paper suitable for oil pastels, as ordinary drawing paper holds the rich pigment release less well.
