When do you need professional colouring pencils?
Colouring pencils are indispensable for artists, illustrators and anyone working on detailed drawings or colour work. This Faber-Castell Polychromos pencil has been specially developed for artists who want to achieve professional results. You use this type of pencil when you want to apply permanent layers of colour that do not fade or bleed.

Why choose a 3.8 mm core thickness?
The 3.8 mm core thickness offers the perfect balance between precision and coverage. This thickness is ideal for both fine detail work and filling larger areas. At a length of 176 mm, the pencil sits comfortably in your hand and gives you enough material for extended drawing sessions.

Smudge- and waterproof properties
This colouring pencil has an oil-based pigment core that is smudge- and waterproof. This means your colours will not fade when you rub over them or when the work comes into contact with moisture. The break-resistant core ensures the tip does not snap easily, even with intensive use. These properties make the pencil suitable for techniques where you build up or blend layers.

Compatibility and use
The round shape gives you a natural grip and prevents the pencil from rolling off your work surface. The light yellow colour (reference 104) is excellent as a base colour for skin tones, soft shadows or as an underlayer for warmer tints. You can combine this pencil with other Polychromos colours for a complete colour palette.
