What is a Polychromos coloured pencil?
The Faber-Castell Polychromos is a professional coloured pencil developed especially for artists. This pencil has an oil-based lead that delivers intense colour pigmentation and excellent blending properties. You use this type of pencil when creating professional drawings where colour fastness and durability are essential.

Why choose this magenta colour?
Magenta (colour code 133) is a primary colour that is indispensable in every artist's collection. This vivid reddish-purple shade forms the basis for mixing countless purple and pink nuances. With this colour you can create both warm and cool tones, depending on the colours you combine it with.

Advantages of the oil-based lead
The coloured pencil features a 3.8 mm oil-based lead that is smudge-proof and water-resistant. This means your colours won't fade or wash out, even when exposed to moisture. The lead is also break-resistant, so you can work for long periods without the pencil breaking. These properties make the pencil suitable for detailed work and large areas of colour.

Practical tip for artists
The round pencil sits comfortably in the hand and has a total length of 176 mm. Thanks to its round shape, you can turn the pencil to achieve different line widths and effects. Store your Polychromos pencils lying down in a pencil case or standing upright in a pencil holder to prevent damage to the lead. The oil-based lead works optimally on various paper types, from smooth drawing paper to textured art paper.
